Tour 3 - the photogenic
The route is kind of short – but it has it all: Alpine panoramas at their finest, tranquil mountain lakes, thundering waterfalls and imposing peaks. It is not for nothing that Interlaken and the Jungfrau Region are among the most popular international travel destinations and have a lot of superlatives to offer: the longest village in Europe (Beatenberg), the highest railway station in Europe (Jungfraujoch Top of Europe), the steepest cable car in the world (Stechelberg-Mürren), the highest free-falling waterfall in Switzerland (Staubbach Falls) and not far away the highest waterfall in Switzerland (Mürrenbach Falls). And let's not forget the famous Eiger North Face.
It is not without reason that painters and poets of the 18th century were inspired by the natural beauty, and even today filmmakers use the imposing natural backdrop as a kind of stage set. On each of your excursions, you are sure to find the right perspective for impressive memorable photos!
Our year-round recommendation: Arrive, park, explore. Leave the camper at the campsite and explore the area on foot, by bike or by public transport. In village or city centres, parking spaces for motorhomes are rare, and the streets are sometimes narrow and confusing. Many excursion destinations are only accessible via narrow mountain roads that are unsuitable for inexperienced drivers and can quickly become congested. Why join the search for those elusive parking spaces (give your nerves a holiday too) and at the same time make a contribution to greater sustainability.
