Tour 1 - the curvy one
On this part of the tour, we take you through the rolling hills of the western Bernese Oberland to remote and wonderfully relaxing places and natural highlights: Immerse yourself in the history of the region in the castles around Lake Thun, discover rare alpine flowers or bizarre rock formations on your hike through protected moorland, marvel at the source of the Simme and rushing waterfalls, or enjoy the cosmopolitan flair of Gstaad.
Our recommendation for all sections of the tour: Arrive. Park. Get started. First check in at your campsite, leave your vehicle there and explore the surrounding area on foot, by bike or by public transport. With your personal guest card and the CAMPING CARD BERNER OBERLAND, which you will receive on arrival, you can save money on many excursions and leisure activities. And public transport is often included within a limited radius.

Tour route
The view of Lake Thun and across to the Bernese Alps is simply spectacular. Take a dip in the lake on hot summer days or paddle along the shore in a SUP or kayak. Explore the historic old town of Thun and chill out in the hip camping bistro in the evening.
Thun Castle towers high above the River Aare and its striking silhouette dominates the townscape. Built in the 12th century, it offers fascinating insights into the medieval history of the region. From the tower, there is a view across Lake Thun to the Alps.
Located directly on Lake Thun, Hünegg Castle takes visitors back to the world of the Belle Époque. The fully preserved living museum displays original furnishings, bedrooms and technology from around 1900, so authentic that it seems as if the residents have only left the house for a short while.
Located directly on Lake Thun, Oberhofen Castle impresses with its striking silhouette and eventful history. The museum and castle grounds combine historical insights with an exceptional location right on the lake shores.
A trip to the striking summit of the Stockhorn promises pure nature experiences all year round: exciting hikes through carpets of flowers in summer, tranquil silence during the winter months. And always paired with a magnificent view!

The Wiriehorn in Diemtigtal: Ideal for hikers, bikers, and winter sports enthusiasts. Enjoy stunning views and pristine nature.
This campsite is located in the middle of the Diemtigtal Nature Park and stands for active enjoyment of nature, as hiking trails, ski areas and a bike park are in the immediate vicinity.

Blauseeli
The small and idyllic Blauseeli lies in a charming Alpine setting at the end of the Diemtigtal valley.
Grimmiwasser
Wild moorland, rare alpine flowers, idyllic mountain scenery and red, iron-rich springs characterise the charm of this magical place in the Diemtigtal.
Let the first rays of sunshine kiss you awake and enjoy the heavenly peace and enchanting landscape of the Simmental with a cup of coffee. On hot days, cool down in the small pool or with a cool, freshly tapped beer under the shady pergola. The small campsite restaurant serves delicious pizzas!
Weissenburgbad ruins
From 1604, Weissenburg was home to the first tapped thermal spring in the Bernese Oberland, which developed into an internationally popular spa resort.
Suspension bridge Leiternweide
111 metres high - 111 metres long: this suspension bridge provides a dose of thrills on your hike to the cave trail + Weissenburgbad.
Those who like to be active will feel at home here: Thanks to its central location, surrounded by meadows, a river and a lake, the campsite offers ideal conditions for actively exploring the Saanenland and Simmental in both summer and winter.

Gryden high-altitude circular trail
The gypsum rock landscape fascinates with bizarre craters and a fantastic view of the Simmental and Saanenland.
Are you looking for peace and relaxation in the middle of the mountains? At the very back of the Simmental, on the small Hasenweide surrounded by mountains, you'll find just that. Here you can sit on the lush green meadow and marvel at the imposing mountain scenery to the sound of the Simme.
Sibe Brünne & Simmen Falls
Hike to the source of the Simme and marvel at the way the river rushes through forests and over rock faces on its way down into the valley.
Saanen
Discover the charming town centre with its chalets from the 15th to 18th century, adorned with flowers in summer, and be sure to try the famous Saanen mustard!
This small, family-friendly campsite, which also welcomes dogs, is located right on the banks of the Saane, just a few minutes' walk from the village centre. It is the ideal starting point for excursions to neighbouring Gstaad, Lake Lauenen or the surrounding mountains.
